September 2018 Fiber Project Update

Here is the latest construction update for our expanding Fiber Optic Network in Dunbarton.  Starting the week of September 17^th, those who live on any of the roads listed below can expect to see crews from Tel-Power or Hawkeye Connections working in your neighborhood.  Notices are being delivered to your home with more information.

Dunbarton Telephone Company is excited to inform you of the latest updates to our Fiber Optic Network. In a previous update, we stated that residents south of Dunbarton Center would be seeing crews working in their neighborhoods. February 27 Fiber Update

As we continue to expand our fiber optic network, we would like to update you on our current progress. Infinigy, a contractor for Dunbarton Telephone Company, is currently running fiber optic cable south of Dunbarton center.

Once this cable has been run, it will enable us to begin upgrading customers south of Dunbarton center to fiber. We plan to start these upgrades during the summer months. Once completed, our fiber optic network will allow you to have Internet speeds up to 100 mps!

Digital Switch Upgrade Notice

We will be upgrading switching equipment in our central office during the early morning hours of February 21st. After 12:00 AM, telephone service will be interrupted for a brief period of time.This state of the art upgrade will replace our current digital switch, which has reliably served our exchange for more than 25 years. At the same time, we will be activating a new Voice Mail System, which will feature some helpful new options. Current voice mail subscribers should have received a notice in the mail with instructions for accessing the new voice mail system and activating your new voice mail box.

Attention Voice Mail Subscribers

Our planned activation to a new Voice Mail System has been delayed. We will notify you when we are ready to switch over. Thank you for your patience.

January 2018 Fiber Project Update

Here at Dunbarton Telephone, our 100% fiber optic network is growing. We are excited to be able to offer faster Internet speeds to many more homes within our exchange. Below is a brief description of our current progress.

First, we are upgrading homes in the Twist Hill Rd. and Gorham Pond Rd. neighborhoods to fiber. If you live in either of these areas and have not set up an appointment with us to complete your install, please call our office soon.

Also, if you live south of Dunbarton Center, you will be included in the next phase of our Fiber Project. Our goal is to begin work on this phase during the 1^st quarter of 2018. Planning and engineering continues, in order to upgrade the remaining portions of our exchange to fiber.
